Role Description

Peel Multicultural Association is a charity that supports and celebrates people from all corners of the planet. We promote understanding and respect for cultural diversity.
Our office is located in the Mandurah CBD. The Office and Digital Hub Intern role comprises two parts: Office: The Peel Multicultural office is located a short walk from the Mandurah CBD. The intern will assist the President Virginia Pitts with administering the Association, and will share an office with her. The duties include administration, communications, social media support, filing, data input, event organisation, room set-up, evaluations and other office duties. Training will be given as needed. Digital Hub: We have laptops, tablets and a printer that our members can use for learning and to improve their computer literacy to equip them with the skills they need to enter the workforce, e.g. résumés, improve English skills, job searches, job applications, online courses, online theory driving tests, visa/citizenship support. The hub needs setting up beforehand, and packing up afterwards. Our members need help with learning how to use the equipment and how to access important information. The laptops and tablets need to be checked for updates and cleaned of any extraneous content from time to time.

Peel Multicultural Association is an incorporated association of volunteers who provide advocacy, information, support, advice, workshops, digital mentoring, integration, guidance, referrals, visa assistance, job search and domestic violence awareness in the Peel Region.
We hold free and low-cost workshops for our members and the CaLD community (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse). We foster community integration and promote cultural awareness through our diverse events and multicultural performances which increases connectedness, learning, wellbeing and general participation.
