Role Title: Marketing and Communications intern: Community Skills Audit
Organisation: Pingelly Community Resource Centre on behalf of Pingelly Somerset Alliance Inc.
Internship Period: Winter (June - July)
The Pingelly Somerset Alliance Inc (PSA) is progressing a plan called Staying in Place to enable older people to stay living at home in their own community as they age. The plan includes:
• Ensuring local people can access their choice of local accommodation including respite, palliative care and dementia accommodation options. • Access to all current state and commonwealth funded services to help people in small rural towns to stay living at home as they age. Sometimes these need a place-based solution. • Establishing a virtual village – with all the benefits of living in a lifestyle village with a concierge without leaving your home. • Building community awareness, knowledge and understanding of how best to support older people living in the community until end of life whilst also growing a local workforce to provide the support and care services needed. • Using leading edge global solutions and validating the work we do. The PSA requires the intern to assist design, implement and analyse an audit of local skills, assets and potential manpower to build the local workforce. The audit will also serve as a marketing tool to encourage people to participate in the Staying in Place plan. The intern will work with the concierge team, project officer and the PSA Management Committee. The project is closely aligned with stakeholders from federal, state and local governments, healthcare, aged care and community services. The UWA is supporting this 'social ageing' project.
"THE HUB OF OUR COMMUNITY" providing quality service and support that meets the diverse needs of the Pingelly Community.
