Role Title: Youth Officer
Organisation: The Makers Community Development Inc
Internship Period: Semester 2 (August - November)
The Youth Officer role is responsible for assisting the Coordinator in the effective delivery of The Makers core projects and youth development initiatives. Another primary part of the Youth Officer’s role is to be an ambassador for young people and advocate for The Makers. Based at Make Place coworking hub.
• Assist in the delivery of Youth on Leadership & YOH Fest program • Liaise with and maintain linkages with project volunteers, participants, parents, teachers, principals and other stakeholders. • Assist in the management of external contractors and consultants relating to projects. • Assist in the development and implementation of youth ambassador duties to raise the profile of The Makers and speak publicly about issues effecting young people. • Assist in the oversight of The Makers social media platforms. • Assist in the development of reports, data collection, marketing materials • General project management duties as required for the effective execution of The Makers core projects • Other duties as directed by the coordinator.
The primary objective of the Association is to engage in social innovation initiatives that reduce the incidence of poverty, sickness, suffering, destitution, misfortune, distress and helplessness in Western Australia.
The other objectives of the Association are: (i) To enhance the health and well-being of people living in Western Australia; and (ii) Ensure equitable access for all people to education, employment and further training opportunities
