Role Title: Research Intern, Research Assistant
Organisation: UWA Social Care and Ageing Living Lab
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
The UWA SAGE Lab is conducting a Lotterywest-funded study in partnership with 5 NFP aged care providers in Western Australia. The study seeks to understand the impacts of infectious outbreaks (and lockdowns) on residents living with dementia, on their families and loved ones, and on people working in residential aged care, especially staff from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
During your internship you will be working with a large and dynamic group of researchers on one of the key data collections activities for this project. Two large scale surveys are currently underway - one for staff, and one for families of residents. Survey data analysis will occur during the internship period. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a large research project, to learn about survey data collection, cleaning, coding and analysis, and to better understand some of the complexities of service delivery in the aged care sector under pandemic conditions.
The SAGE Lab focuses on developing and evaluating the role of technology in creating and supporting the social connection and inclusion of older people, across both residential and community living, including promoting digital citizenship.
