Role Title: Event Intern, Aspire Options

Organisation: UWA Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Education

Internship Period: Winter (June - July)

Location: Crawley

Role Description

The intern will work closely with the Aspire team and more broadly the Student Equity team to facilitate an "options" event aimed at year 11 students from across the 70+ Aspire partner schools.
This event is delivered on-campus, in-person at UWA, with industry partners also invited where appropriate to participate in the event (eg. via a panel/speed networking etc.) Your role is to assist in the successful delivery of the event, which aligns with the program's aims to build capacity and spark student interest in opportunities they may not yet realise university can offer. You will be helping to ensure that participating students get the most benefit from and engagement in the program possible. It combines event management skills with social empathy and awareness and some evaluation skills post-event. Your role will assist in the pre-planning stages, delivery of the event and post-event evaluation conducted immediately after the event is held. You'll collate RSVP's into spreadsheets and other event planning templates, finalising key information and communications to participants. You will assist in the preparation of event materials - including creating an opening PowerPoint, event promotional materials and other items needed for the professional running of the event. You'll evaluate the feedback data received and provide a short evaluation report combining feedback from the event and assessment of the event, including where improvement for future events could be made.
