Role Description

The intern will work with the Migration Update Convening Committee and external Steering Committee to develop, market, coordinate and evaluate the 2021 Migration Update. The intern will develop skills in event coordination and management. They will also have the opportunity to develop strong professional networks with a wide range of academic, policy and community sector professional networks in the areas of migration governance and migrant support, as well as gaining a grounded understanding of migration issues.

Among a range of activities, the Migration, Mobilities & Belonging (MMoB) Research Cluster at UWA hosts an annual WA Migration Update conference to bring together the academic, policy (including Federal, State and Local governments) and community sectors to discuss contemporary issues relating to migration both locally and globally. The aim of the Update is to present the latest advances in scholarly migration and migrant inclusion research into direct conversation with those implementing migration and migrant policy and practice.
