Role Title: Digital Content Intern, Training and Development Resource Creator
Organisation: Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Lesmurdie, WA
Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is a not for profit charity which receives no Government funding. We are open every day of the year and are staffed by 1.6 paid staff and approximately 250 volunteers. We have a new intake of volunteers every month (including some with support workers) so volunteers are at different skill levels.
At Kanyana we have 4 main aims-To rehabilitate the approximate 3000 wildlife patients that come into our care every year, to educate the public both onsite and offsite about our native wildlife, successfully engage in captive breeding programs for threatened species and to conduct research into wildlife diseases. We have approximately 250 volunteers who undertake this work. As part of the onboarding and training of Kanyana's volunteers we wish to establish a library of video resources to ensure that the volunteers maintain a consistent high standard of care. In addition, we want to provide training for mine site employees, vets and vet nurses, Local Government employees etc who may come into contact with sick or injured wildlife and would benefit from Fauna First Aid. This is part of our program to raise funds for Kanyana. The intern will be required to liaise with the Training Committee to establish a list of needed videos, prioritise the videos, write scripts, produce videos and index the resources.
Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to wildlife conservation. We care for sick, injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife; breed threatened species; conduct training and research; and educate schools and community.
