Role Title: Project Intern: Women's Safety Resource
Internship Period: Winter (June - July)
The components of the project are: 1. Researching publications on safety planning for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence, from local services, and national and international jurisdictions; 2. Convening a working group of service staff to discuss these publications and identify best practice and what would be most appropriate for women using Starick's services to enhance their safety; 3. In consultation with staff, developing a Starick booklet on safety planning to be distributed to clients of the service.
The project will involve research skills and liaising/communicating with other FDV services; convening meetings and facilitating discussions with staff; consolidating the results of research and discussions into a user friendly and evidence based booklet for women on safety planning.
