Role Title: IT & Data Systems Intern, Community Partnerships Data Analysis

Role Description

* Explore the community by mapping the networks, partnerships and relationships of the Swan Alliance and our sub-contracted organisations using free sociogram software or other available software through UWA, eg. Nvivo.
* Provide network sociogram graphs at 3 points in time (2012, 2015, 2020) based on existing written reports to look at changes over time. * Identify the most appropriate software to give the greatest access during the internship. * Become competent in using the software via a training course or lecturer identified by the intern. * Understand the methodology, terminology and coding requirements for entering the data to provide sociograms that match the requirements of the Swan Alliance. * Present a report and/or information highlighting the relationships and provide a written summary of what each sociograph depicts.

The Swan Alliance – an equal partnership between Ngala, Mission Australia and Anglicare WA – is the Facilitating Partner of the Australian Department of Social Services Communities for Children initiative within the Swan LGA. The core business is to: “develop and facilitate a ‘whole of community’ approach to support and enhance early childhood development and wellbeing for children from birth to 12 years”. As part of this responsibility, the Swan Alliance sub-contracts other organisations, known as Community Partners, to deliver services.
