Rail Heritage WA was founded in 1959 and is a volunteer-run, non-profit organisation whose vision is to provide access to and promote understanding of the history of railways in Western Australia. Volunteers are key to its future sustainability. The intern will work with members of the Management Committee to assist them to create a more up-to-date system for volunteer engagement and management. They will also be consulting with volunteers already active as well as local community resources. All current materials will be made available.
To provide access to and promote understanding of the history of railways in Western Australia. Purpose: • To collect, restore, maintain and interpret Western Australian railway artefacts. • To encourage and promote interest in the history and operations of railways in Western Australia. • Provide public access to the railway history of Western Australia • To achieve these in a sustainable and viable way.
