ORIGINS is a large longitudinal birth cohort in Western Australia that follows approximately 10,000 children and their families from pregnancy into early childhood.
Are you passionate about child development, family dynamics, or public health? Join us as an intern in the exciting exploration phase of the Family Mealtimes Project, part of the larger ORIGINS research initiative. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real-world research while contributing to meaningful work that explores how everyday family routines impact long-term health and wellbeing. As a research intern, you'll support two key streams of the project: Narrative Literature Review We've conducted an extensive literature search on family mealtimes, identifying over 3,000 articles. With 79 highly relevant articles now selected, we're entering the final stage of our Narrative Review. You’ll assist with: Summarising and synthesising key findings Contributing to the writing of a publishable review Gaining valuable skills in academic writing, critical analysis, and evidence synthesis Family Mealtimes Study – Participant Recruitment & Data Collection Preparation We're preparing to launch our participant study in 2026, recruiting parents and children from the ORIGINS cohort. Help us get ready by assisting with: Drafting and refining the Participant Information Sheet Contributing to the ethics application process Preparing creative children’s drawing packs used during data collection
