Role Description

The safety and security of client data is essential for all business, the security needs increases significantly for children's data. As an approved child care provider, REED is governed by standard state and federal legislation as well as Early Childhood Education & Care (ECEC) sector regulation and law.
To process child care subsidy, third party software is required to record and submit child attendance to the Commonwealth, take payment for child care fees and record personal data of children and families. In addition, other third party software for programming, incident reporting, which records children's personal details and photographs. REED is seeking an intern to undertake a research project to look into third party software providers responsibilities, contracts and legal responsibility for how and when the collected data is kept and then destructed at the cessation of a child's enrolment at a service. Is there a considerable variance in third party providers, what are the primary and deciding factors ECEC providers should be considering prior to choosing a third party software provider to ensure data security and destruction of said data.
