Role Title: Project Intern
Organisation: Mission Australia
Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)
Location: Cloverdale
The intern will assist the team with an existing project: Child and Youth Homelessness project. Individuals from three not-for-profit organisations, Mission Australia, Indigo Junction and Vinnies WA, completed the Innovation Unit Design Academy (now called Third Story) course last year, focusing on designing social innovation and systems change using a wide range of design methods and techniques.
Through using the methods of the social innovation course, we identified three key priorities:
1. Prioritising housing first for Youth – youth services mapping and develop an Advocacy strategy
2. Data, collection, linkage and refinement – linked to the work as part of the WAAEH – Youth Improvement team
3. Easier referral pathways – encourage organisation to use the BNL and developing a dedicated Youth Rough Sleeper Coordination
We have established working groups for each of the project streams, including cross youth sector support. We require project support to keep the momentum of the three streams of work and can match to the applicants strengths / goals.
Inspired by Jesus Christ, Mission Australia exists to meet human need and to spread the knowledge of the love of God. Mission Australia's goal is to end homelessness and ensure people and communities in need can thrive.
