Role Title: YEP Project Content Creator
Organisation: Youth Affairs Council of WA (YACWA)
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: East Perth
YACWA’s Youth Educating Peers (YEP) Project aims to support and educate young people on relationships, sexual health and blood-borne virus (SHBBV) issues. We do this by working directly with young people, delivering workshops, stalls, and through social media. A key focus is on the use of peer education as a youth participation and health promotion strategy with our group of peer educators, the YEP Crew.
To reach young people and youth workers, YEP often runs social media campaigns addressing key sexual health issues that young people want addressed. As our wonderful intern on the YEP Project, you would be assisting with the creation and roll out of our new Anatomy & Pleasure Campaign.
The Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) is the peak non-government youth organisation in Western Australia. We operate primarily as a human rights organisation that seeks to address the exclusion of young people in a rapidly changing society. Our continued vision for Western Australia is one that celebrates and engages young people in all aspects of the community. Our role is to strengthen the trust, cooperation, collaboration; professionalism and voice of the non-government youth service sector to better serve the young people of Western Australia.
