Role Description

Phoenix Support and Advocacy Services is seeking a motivated and creative Marketing and Public Relations Intern to support the organisation’s communications, community engagement, and brand awareness activities. This internship provides an opportunity for students to gain practical experience in marketing, digital communications, media engagement, and social impact storytelling within the not-for-profit sector.
The intern will work closely with organisational leaders and staff to help strengthen community visibility, promote services and initiatives, and support campaigns that enhance stakeholder engagement and advocacy outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing marketing and communication materials including newsletters, brochures, social media content, and promotional resources. Support social media management across digital platforms including content scheduling, engagement, and campaign development. Contribute to public relations activities including media releases, community event promotion, and stakeholder communications. Assist with website updates, content writing, and digital storytelling initiatives. Support the development of marketing strategies to increase community awareness and engagement. Conduct research into community engagement opportunities, partnerships, and communication trends. Help capture and communicate organisational impact stories and community outcomes. Assist with event promotion and community outreach activities where required.

Phoenix advocates for increased understanding of childhood trauma and the impact of child sexual abuse on individuals, families and the whole community and the benefits of early intervention and prevention.
