PCH Audiology Database Intern

Role Title: PCH Audiology Database Intern

Organisation: Child and Adolescent Health Service

Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)

Location: Nedlands

Role Description

The Children's Hearing implant Program (CHIP) at PCH has a current case load of 240 children who are current cochlear implant recipients and 50 cochlear implant candidates undergoing assessment at any one time. We are looking to implement a Redcap data management system to better manage and track our pre-operative candidates and allow for improved data management of pre and post-operative hearing outcomes. A data management system in which all relevant audiological, speech and medical data sits on one platform will significantly improve our ability to analyse data more effectively. This will facilitate more timely research into hearing outcomes and help identify areas of missing data more effectively. The system would also allow the team to track patients hearing journey more efficiently and help reduce delays in proceeding to cochlear implantation. The team would appreciate some assistance from an intern to support our new database which will record, review and report on the outcomes and success of the program.
