Role Title: Project Intern: Liquor Control and Compliance
Organisation: Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS)
Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)
Location: Perth
The role sits within the Racing, Gaming and Liquor Division's Liquor Control & Compliance Branch (the LC&C Branch) in the Local Government and Racing, Gaming and Liquor Group (LGRGL).
The LC&C Branch undertakes liquor licensing, stakeholder engagement and education, compliance inspections and related activities, attendance at various Liquor Accords, and investigations and enforcement of WA's liquor industry.
In this role, you will be involved in supporting activities such as:
- Process mapping
- Problem‑solving and continuous improvement through process analysis (e.g. gap analysis, researching available tools within the department that could support digital and other solutions)
- Process design, development and documentation
- Stakeholder management
- Supporting the business systems maintained by the team
- Ensuring alignment of processes across the LC&C Branch and broader Racing, Gaming and Liquor Division
- Using Microsoft Platform tools
