The Infectious Diseases Epidemiology team in the Wesfarmers Centre for Vaccines and Infectious Diseases at The Kids Research Institute Australia are looking for students and interns interested in infectious diseases, epidemiology, and/or public health to assist the PATROL study team.
PATROL - Parents Actively Tracking RSV in Little Ones - is aiming to better understand how often Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infections that don’t require hospitalisation occur in children less than five years old. This research is being run by Professor Chris Blyth and A/Prof Hannah Moore as part of the STAMP RSV program. The STAMP [Surveillance, Transmission, Attitudes, Policy, Modelling] RSV program has been designed to prepare the community for the uptake of emerging RSV immunisation strategies by providing evidence to inform public health policy.
The intern will work with the PATROL study team to assist with participant recruitment, data collection and reporting.
The Kids Research Institute Australia is based within the Perth Children’s Hospital, and is one of the largest, and most successful medical research institutes in Australia, comprising a dedicated and diverse team of around 1,000 staff, students and honoraries.
