Role Title: Event Intern Corporate Communications Fremantle
Organisation: Department of Communities
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Fremantle
The annual 16 Days in WA – Stop Violence Against Women campaign takes place from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of ViolenceAgainst Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day. The campaign draws inspiration from the global movement for 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence to drive a change in culture, behaviour and attitudes that lead to violence against women and their children.
This is one of the largest government campaigns in WA and involves several high profile elements including an annual march against family and domesticviolence, a corporate business breakfast event, and communications material including website and video content, branded badges and t-shirts, and coordination with other community agencies.
The 16 Days in WA campaign is led by the Department of Communities. The intern will work in the Corporate Communications team, who deliver the campaign in partnership with the Office of Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence.
The Department collaborates to create pathways that enable individual, family and community wellbeing. What we do has far-reaching impacts across all aspects of society. Supporting wellbeing can mean many things including ensuring children are safe, helping people access a home, or creating diverse and inclusive communities.
