Role Title: Stakeholder and Community Engagement Intern
Organisation: Governor Stirling Senior High School
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Midland
As an intern at Governor Stirling Senior High School, you will undertake a strategic, research-focused project aimed at supporting the school’s community engagement and long-term positioning within the local education landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Stakeholder and Community Engagement:
Engage with internal stakeholders (school leadership, staff, and students) and external stakeholders (parents, local residents, feeder schools, community groups, and local government) to gather qualitative and quantitative insights into the school's current reputation, perceived strengths, and areas for growth.
Enrolment Research and Analysis:
Analyse current and historical enrolment trends at Governor Stirling SHS, comparing these figures with those of nearby public and private schools. Identify factors influencing enrolment decisions, such as academic performance, specialty programs, school culture, location, and demographic shifts.
Benchmarking and Reporting:
Develop a comparative analysis that highlights the school's position relative to neighbouring schools. This will include visual data representation (e.g., graphs, maps, tables) to clearly communicate trends and patterns.
Strategic Recommendations:
Based on research and community feedback, provide a set of practical recommendations aimed at improving the school's appeal, boosting enrolments, and strengthening community perception.
At Governor Stirling Senior High School, we work together with our community to develop in our students a life-long love of learning and to give them the tools to thrive in their lives after school. We do this in a positive, culturally inclusive learning environment.
