Role Title: Research Intern - (Decarbonisation & International Engagement)

Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)

Role Description

The Intern will support a research project examining opportunities for Australian governments and industry to participate in decarbonisation efforts in China, with a particular focus on alignment with the Western Australian Government’s Made in WA agenda and renewable energy policies.
The role will involve desktop research, policy and market analysis, and synthesis of findings into clear briefing materials. The Intern will assess collaboration opportunities across renewable energy, clean technologies, critical minerals, and industrial decarbonisation, and identify how WA capabilities and industries can engage with China’s transition to a low-carbon economy. This position is suited to a highly motivated student or recent graduate with an interest in energy transition, climate policy, international trade, or Australia–China economic relations, and strong research and analytical skills. The main outcome of the internship will be a final report that the office of Geoff Baker MLA can refer to regarding this topic.
