Role Title: MAPS for Parents podcast support Intern - Winter
Organisation: Meerilinga Young Children’s Foundation
Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)
Location: Hilton
Meerilinga Parenting Service aims to support parents of children pre-birth- 18 to:
• Manage the challenges of parenting
• Build knowledge, skills and confidence
• Understand children’s development
• Identify resources for support.
The MAPS for Parents Podcast and Webinar Series, funded by Healthways, will provide a focus on Mindfulness, Attunement, Play and Self-care to support parents in these aims.
Meerilinga will produce a series of 12 x approximately 20 minute episodes. Each episode will feature conversation between presenters on a key topic. If our intern has the skills, they may edit the episodes and prepare them for launch, along with providing short 30-60 second clips for social media.
If our intern has the skills, we'd like episodes to also feature audio clips from parents who have attended workshops with Meerilinga Parenting Service, about their experiences of implementing the strategies and tools mentioned in the podcast.
Episode notes (intern will create these) will include links to program websites, as well as links to workshops and classes with the various funded Parenting Service providers.
Social media promotion of the podcast will also be a priority for the intern.
Creation of powerpoint presentations for accompanying webinars.
Meerilinga is a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity that promotes the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child; working with children, their families, early childhood professionals, planners and the community to raise the status of children in Western Australia. Meerilinga’s association with children dates back to 1911, to the pioneers of the kindergarten movement and the early learning advocates for children’s interests in this state.
