Role Title: Privacy, Information Governance and Policy Development Intern

Organisation: Town of Bassendean

Internship Period: Summer (November - December)

Location: Bassendean

Role Description

The intern will support a significant organisational project relating to the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act, helping to strengthen the organisation’s privacy and information management practices.
Working alongside the relevant team, the intern will contribute to the development of a centralised privacy and information register, consolidating information and records from across the organisation. The project will also involve supporting the preparation of policies, procedures and management practices to guide responsible information handling and ensure organisational readiness for the requirements of the legislation. This is an opportunity to contribute to a substantial governance and compliance project, with work scheduled to progress to Council consideration by the end of the year. The knowledge and experience gained through this project will provide valuable exposure to a legislative framework that applies across Western Australian public sector agencies and local governments, making the skills developed highly transferable.
