Hensman Street Elementary is an independent micro school with a bold vision: to provide education that truly sees and nurtures the whole child, and to inspire a broader shift toward holistic, community-rooted schooling. Being a small not-for-profit, a key challenge in advancing this mission is securing the resources we need to grow, sustain, and extend our impact.
This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to positive systemic change in education by helping Hensman strengthen its funding base and partnerships. The intern will work closely with the leadership team to support grants research, funding applications, and community fundraising initiatives.
Key contributions may include:
- Researching and identifying potential grants, donors, and philanthropic partners aligned with Hensman’s mission
- Assisting with preparing grant applications and proposals (e.g. collating information, drafting sections, reviewing guidelines for eligibility)
- Supporting the design and promotion of small-scale community fundraising activities
- Helping develop and maintain a database of funding prospects and submission timelines
- Tracking and reporting on applications, deadlines, and outcomes
- Assisting with partnership outreach and communications
We are seeking a practical, detail-oriented contributor who is keen to help secure the funding and partnerships that will enable Hensman Street Elementary to grow its impact in the education space.
