Role Title: Evaluation of researcher and consumer collaborative experience
Organisation: Western Australian Health Translation Network
Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)
Location: QEII Campus, Nedlands
The WAHTN Consumer and Community Involvement Program (CCIProgram) supports meaningful, best-practice consumer involvement across the health and medical research lifecycle in Western Australia. We provide tailored support and guidance to researchers, consumers, academia, WA Government and funders together with connecting researchers with consumers who have relevant lived experience pertinent to their research projects.
Recently we have been offered access to an evaluation survey – PEIRS-22 (Patient Engagement in Research Scale) – that provides insight and feedback on both researchers experience and perspectives of working with a ‘matched’ consumer/s and conversely, consumers regarding their work with a specific researcher or team.
An opportunity in research and evaluation exists for a McCusker intern to undertake an evaluation project of select researchers and consumers who have received support from the CCIProgram.
The Western Australian Health Translation Network (WAHTN) operates as a multi-site, state-wide, collaboration which brings together WA’s universities, medical research institutes, public and private health service providers, PathWest and the WA Department of Health, to embrace and accelerate research translation. We identify barriers and co-design solutions to facilitate timely research translation into better health care delivery.
