Role Title: Palliative care in gynaecologic oncology

The Western Australian Gynaecologic Oncology Service (WAGCS) is the state-wide public service for women with gynaecological cancers. Our service includes a palliative care service, staffed by 4 consultant physicians involved in the management of symptoms through a cancer diagnosis and during treatment at the end of life.
Palliative care in gynaecologic oncology cancers is very specific. This project is to create a comprehensive written piece of information for patients that would cover
- Information about palliative care services and understanding the role of palliative care in gynaecologic oncology beyond care of the dying
- Help on our to navigate the palliative care service
- Common ways of managing symptoms in gynaecologic cancers
- Facilitate the creation of a patient diary
The project will require collaboration with palliative care physicians, gynaecologic oncologists, dieticians, physiotherapists and social workers to pull together the resources and information needed. All of the steps will be guided by senior palliative care consultant Dr Paula Moffat.
The role would be on a Thursday. In addition to bringing the information together, the role would require some content creation - making this patient friendly, layout that is easy to read etc
