Grants AI Agent Intern 2

Role Title: Grants AI Agent Intern 2

Organisation: Sexual Health Quarters (SHQ)

Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)

Location: Northbridge, WA

Role Description

The intern will lead the development of an AI-powered grants agent to support Sexual Health Quarters (SHQ) in sourcing, managing, and applying for relevant funding opportunities. This project aims to improve SHQ’s internal grants systems by building a tool that identifies and categorises grants aligned with SHQ’s mission in sexual health, gender-based violence prevention, disability inclusion, and community wellbeing. The intern will work under the supervision of the Manager of Business Development, who brings expertise in community health and grant strategy but not technical IT skills. As such, the intern will be expected to take initiative in translating SHQ’s strategic needs into technical requirements, selecting appropriate tools and methods (e.g. APIs, automation platforms, databases), and creating a functional prototype or system. They will also play a key role in documenting and explaining the tool’s use in a non-profit context, ensuring it is user-friendly for non-technical staff and applicable to real-world grants processes.
