Role Title: Database Creation Intern
Organisation: South Metropolitan Health Service
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Fiona Stanley Hospital or Cockburn
This project offers a McCusker intern the opportunity to play a key role in establishing the first Women’s Mental Health clinical and research database within the South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS). Working under the supervision of the Head of Research, the intern will assist in developing a pilot REDCap database to capture routine clinical and outcome data from the Cockburn Health Women’s Mental Health Inpatient Service. This project directly supports the McCusker Centre’s mission to provide students with hands-on experience in socially impactful work, strengthening research capacity and evidence-based service design. The database will form the foundation for future outcome monitoring, trauma-informed care evaluation, and collaborative research across SMHS and university partners. The intern will need to have an interest in health or mental health as well as IT/Data systems.
