Role Title: Youth Program and Education Intern
Organisation: Shooting Stars
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Jolimont
As the Enrichment & Development Intern at Shooting Stars, you will work with our Perth-based Enrichment team to design and develop creative, culturally safe resources that support Aboriginal girls and young women participating in our programs. Your work will focus on creating engaging program materials, such as; activity guides, worksheets, posters, and digital tools—for key initiatives including Deadly Minds Matter, Sparks, Art with the Stars, and On Country.
This role is resource-focused, meaning you’ll primarily collaborate with the Enrichment team rather than directly facilitating with participants or staff. You’ll gain hands-on experience in content design, visual communication, and program development, while contributing to tools that are used across 22 Shooting Stars sites in Western Australia and South Australia.
Shooting Stars is an educational program that uses sport and other tools to encourage greater school engagement amongst young Aboriginal girls and women. We empower Aboriginal girls and women in regional and remote communities to make informed choices about their education and employment journey, helping them strive for the stars.
