Role Title: Scope of Works for Signage Projects Intern
Organisation: City of Nedlands
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: City of Nedlands
The intern will support the development of a scope of work for a project to install street name signs and other types of signage across the City. Their tasks will include:
1) Data Collection: access Intramaps, the City’s asset management data base, to extract a list of existing signs within the project area.
2) Site Verification: conduct a site walk to verify the presence of signs listed in the database. Identify signs that have been removed and require reinstatement. Identify whether there are existing lightpoles that can be used for the installation of the signs or whether a new pole is required.
3) Stocktake: perform a stocktake of signage available at the City’s depot to avoid unnecessary purchases.
4) Procurement Planning: Develop a detailed list of signs that need to be purchased and installed (including whether poles are required) and signs that only require installation.
5) Prepare a cost estimate of the work to be undertook (with information the City will provide)
6) Final Deliverable: prepare a clear schedule of items to be purchased and installed, forming the basis of the project’s scope of work in a request for quotation or request for tender
