Evaluation Intern: Student Survey Development

Role Title: Evaluation Intern: Student Survey Development

Organisation: SHINE Inspire Achieve Belong Inc.

Internship Period: Summer (November - December)

Location: Geraldton

Role Description

The Evaluation Intern will play a key role in supporting the growth and impact of SHINE Inspire Achieve Belong Inc. by developing age-appropriate student surveys to evaluate our Shine and Shimmer programs. These programs deliver critical social, emotional, and wellbeing education for girls from Year 5 through to Year 10, and the intern will help ensure participant voices are heard and program outcomes are measured effectively.
Working closely with program facilitators and students, the intern will design, pilot, and refine pre- and post-program survey tools that align with core learning outcomes such as knowledge, confidence, resilience, respectful relationships, and wellbeing, as well as the programs contribution to reconciliation, and the prevention of gender and family domestic violence. This includes reviewing existing frameworks, consulting with stakeholders, and ensuring surveys are accessible, engaging, and culturally appropriate for young people. The intern will also develop simple protocols for data collection, storage, and ethical practice to ensure student confidentiality is upheld.
