Role Title: Museum Early Years Program Intern
Organisation: City of Wanneroo
Internship Period: Winter (June - July)
Location: Wanneroo
This internship offers an opportunity to support the development and delivery of early years learning experiences at Wanneroo Regional Museum, following the installation of a new museum play space.
The intern will work with the Curatorial and Education team to design, trial and refine a play-based early years program that supports learning through exploration, storytelling and hands-on interaction. The role focuses on translating museum content into age-appropriate, engaging experiences for children aged 0–5 and their families.
The intern will contribute to program development, resource creation and on-site testing, gaining practical experience in early childhood engagement within a cultural setting. This includes observing how young children interact with the play space and adapting activities to support curiosity, confidence and learning.
This is a project-based internship with tangible outcomes, ideal for students studying teaching, early childhood education or child development who are interested in alternative learning environments.
