Role Title: Project Intern (Early Beginnings)
Organisation: Department of Communities
Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)
Location: Fremantle
The Early Years Partnership (EYP) is a 10-year partnership between the State Government (Departments of Communities, Health and Education) and Minderoo Foundation (Minderoo).
The EYP aims to improve children’s well-being and school readiness in four Western Australian communities to learn what it takes to create change for all Western Australian children.
The four EYP partner communities are Armadale West (metropolitan); Central Great Southern (Shires of Katanning, Kojonup, Gnowangerup and Broomehill-Tambellup) [regional]; Derby (including Mowanjum and Pandanus Park) (remote) and Bidyadanga (very remote).
The intern will support the outcomes of the EYP through research, project management and engagement.
Specifically they would focus on an unfunded opportunity in the community plans that requires in-depth thinking and discussions to collate all data together and provide recommendations.
The Department collaborates to create pathways that enable individual, family and community wellbeing. What we do has far-reaching impacts across all aspects of society. Supporting wellbeing can mean many things including ensuring children are safe, helping people access a home, or creating diverse and inclusive communities.
