Role Title: Project Intern: POS Strategy
Organisation: Shire of Chittering
Internship Period: Winter (June - July)
Location: Bindoon and from home
The role is to research and identify possible areas and uses for public open space in the Shire of Chittering. The resulting audit of the public open space (POS) in Chittering will not only list existing managed areas of POS, but also identify areas which are either owned, or vested to the Shire, but not currently developed for recreational or community use.
A combined report showing the following would be required:
1. Location and size of POS
2. Current use
3. Population density serviced by the POS
4. Possible additional/new uses
5. Feasibility of developing the POS for the new use.
The intern will be managed by the Economic and Community Development team, and also engage with the Development Services - Planning team.
The Shire of Chittering is located 55kms north of Perth, and services the townsites of Muchea, Bindoon and Wannamal along with the localities of Mooliabeenee, Upper Chittering and Lower Chittering.
