Role Description

The intern will work within the Newman Women’s Shelter Youth Team to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of the NAIDOC Week event. Next Gen Festival. The role will involve assisting staff with a range of event-related tasks, both in the office and in the community, including preparation, setup, and on-the-ground support during activities.
The intern will primarily engage with youth programs and initiatives, including FIP (Food in the Park), Matu Youth Support, and other youth programs we offer at NWS, they will have the opportunity to work closely with young people, community members, and staff to support positive engagement and successful event outcomes. This is a hands-on, community-focused role that provides exposure to regional youth work, First Nations community engagement, and large-scale community event delivery.
