Media and Engagement Intern – Social Connection Project

Role Title: Media and Engagement Intern – Social Connection Project

Organisation: Holy Grounds (Perth) part of St George's Cathedral

Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)

Location: Boorloo / Perth

Role Description

As the Media and Engagement Intern (Social Connection Project), you’ll play a hands-on role in helping Holy Grounds share its story and grow its community impact. Working closely with the Community Engagement Coordinator, you’ll help create engaging digital content, support social media campaigns, and produce short videos that reflect the heart of our space.
You’ll also contribute to a research inquiry exploring how loneliness and social isolation are being addressed locally and globally - helping us better understand the broader context of our work. You’ll primarily interact with the Community Engagement team, our volunteers, patrons, and community partners. This is a collaborative, creative internship based in a small, values-led organisation that welcomes people from all walks of life. Holy Grounds is social enterprise café - a vibrant community hub bringing people together to challenge social isolation and foster meaningful connections. A collaborative project between Anglicare WA and St George’s Cathedral, our goal is to create a welcoming environment where everyone belongs. Through activities co-designed by locals, we aim to nurture a sense of belonging and create a space where conversation, connection, and community thrive.
