Role Title: Power BI Reporting and Data Analytics Intern 1
Organisation: Women's Legal Services
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Perth
Women's Legal Service WA (WLSWA) is seeking a motivated and analytical intern to support the development of Power BI dashboards and reporting tools to improve data analysis, service reporting and operational insights.
WLSWA uses the Actionstep legal case management system to manage client and service information. The organisation requires improved reporting capabilities to analyse service delivery, client demographics, staff workloads and outputs, and data quality. It also needs to produce reports in different formats to meet funder requirements while ensuring client confidentiality through appropriate de-identification of data.
Working with the organisation, the intern will help develop an initial suite of Power BI dashboards and reports using data exported from Actionstep or accessed through its API. The intern will also contribute to data validation, reporting processes and technical documentation so staff can understand, maintain and use the tools after the placement concludes.
This project will provide practical experience in business intelligence, data visualisation and reporting within a community legal service. The successful student will help establish a foundation for ongoing internal reporting capability, enabling WLSWA staff to build on the initial work and maintain the dashboards and reports over time.
We are a not for profit community legal centre providing legal advice, support and advocacy to WA women experiencing disadvantage. We work to promote a legal system that is safe, supportive, non-discriminatory and responsive to the needs of all women in our community, particularly those who face disadvantage. We believe that just and fair outcomes, as well as access to justice and support when needed, should not be dependent on gender.
