Role Title: Media and Marketing Intern
Organisation: PBF Australia
Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)
Location: Shenton Park, WA
This internship focuses on bringing PBF Australia’s story to life through creative, meaningful content. You’ll play a hands-on role in shaping how we show up online and in the community, helping build awareness, spark conversations, and highlight the real impact of our work in preventing spinal cord injuries and supporting people with lived experience.
From social media to video shoots, you’ll capture authentic moments, elevate powerful stories, and keep content engaging, current, and on brand. This is an opportunity to create content that truly makes a difference.
Key responsibilities include creating and scheduling engaging social media content, capturing photography and video (including behind-the-scenes, presentations, and impact stories), and refreshing marketing materials such as flyers, presentations, and campaign assets. You’ll help maintain and update website content, design new assets aligned with campaigns, and coordinate shoots with presenters and peer support mentors to ensure authentic storytelling. Maintaining brand consistency across all platforms will also be a core focus.
You’ll collaborate with a supportive marketing and communications team, presenters and peer support mentors with lived experience, internal program teams, and external partners across media, events, and community engagement.
PBF Australia (The Paraplegic Benefit Fund) is a national not-for-profit committed to reducing the impact and incidence of spinal cord injury. Established in 1984 by renowned spinal surgeon Sir George Bedbrook, PBF works to prevent life-changing injuries across Australia. Through targeted injury prevention programs, we educate people about the risks associated with everyday activities at home, work and play. We also provide vital financial and peer support to members who sustain a total and permanent traumatic spinal cord injury, helping ease the immediate burden and support them as they adjust to a dramatically changed life.
