The Social Media Content Planner Intern will work closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager to plan and draft social media content for Shooting Stars through to February 2026. Their main project will be developing a social media calendar, including captions, suggested visuals (photos, videos, graphics), and post scheduling for key themes such as participant achievements, staff and steering committee introductions, partner acknowledgements, and Shooting Stars’ 10-year anniversary.
The intern will also support with smaller communications tasks, such as drafting newsletter content, preparing simple graphics in Canva, and organising photo and video assets. They will gather content from program staff and other team members, ensuring content reflects the brand, tone and key messages. Furthermore, they will analyse social media and website metrics to record trends and insights that inform future content planning.
This role provides practical experience in digital communications and content planning, giving the intern the opportunity to showcase the voices and successes of Shooting Stars participants and staff, strengthen brand visibility, and contribute to meaningful programs that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women.
Shooting Stars is an educational program that uses sport and other tools to encourage greater school engagement amongst young Aboriginal girls and women. We empower Aboriginal girls and women in regional and remote communities to make informed choices about their education and employment journey, helping them strive for the stars.
