Role Description

Update the Notifiable Infectious Disease Dashboard
The intern will work with the Surveillance and Disease Control team of the Communicable Disease Control Directorate (CDCD) to update the Notifiable Infectious Disease Dashboard (https://www.health.wa.gov.au/articles/n_r/notifiable-infectious-disease-dashboard). This dashboard provides the public with up-to-date analytics on communicable diseases in Western Australia. Key Responsibilities: • Compile, clean, and transform data from WA health data collections. • Design and map data models to shift raw data into meaningful insights. • Utilize Power BI to build interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports. • Creating DAX calculations and measures to support data analysis. • Ensuring data security and compliance with best practices. Supervision and Collaboration The intern will work closely with data analysts and epidemiologists from SDC/CDCD. Desirable Skills: • Knowledge in Power BI development, including report and dashboard creation • Knowledge of data modelling and data visualization concepts • Knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating calculations
