Role Description

This internship will review admission and disposition data of SCGH Emergency Department (ED) patients’ presenting with respiratory conditions from the last three years. The intern will
1. Complete a literature review of efficacy of physiotherapy for acute respiratory patients presenting to ED in terms of hospital avoidance and hospital length of stay. 2. Develop a database collecting: a. The number of patients presenting with respiratory conditions to ED (stratified by age) b. The number of these patients that were then admitted to hospital and their hospital length of stay; and c. The number of patients who were discharged home from the ED.
