Location: Perth and site visit to Roebourne

Role Description

The Senior Inspections and Review Intern works within the Inspections and Review Operations Directorate at the Office of the Inspector of Custodial Services, based in Perth. In this role, the intern will support projects related to the inspection and review of custodial facilities, such as prisons and detention centres, across Western Australia.
Summary of responsibilities: • Contribute to a portfolio of projects and provide technical leadership, guidance and support to less experienced officers within the project team; • Undertake research and analysis to formulate recommendations that support evidence-based project outcomes and decision making; • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management, to ensure project deliverables are met; • Provide advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, timeframes, policy objectives and other project priorities. The intern will primarily interact with: • Project teams within the Inspections and Review Operations Directorate • Senior management and the Principal Inspections and Review Officer • External stakeholders, such as facility staff and members, prisoners
