Role Description

The intern will support the City of Gosnells Urban Forest team by reviewing the City’s current approach to Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer (PSHB) management and developing the foundation for an adopted City-wide PSHB Management Plan.
The role will focus on analysing existing PSHB hotspot mapping alongside the City’s internal tree inventory to identify current and emerging risk areas. This will include reviewing Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) guidance, benchmarking how other local governments are managing PSHB, and identifying practical actions for surveillance, monitoring, education, and response planning. The intern’s work will help establish a consistent and proactive approach to PSHB management across the City, supporting long-term urban forest protection and informed decision making.
