Role Title: Project Intern: Justice Policy

Policy and project to support central agency role in substantial justice reforms- including - supporting the DPC role in the Justice Planning and Reform Committee focussed on addressing challenges such as rising incarceration rates, court backlogs, and systemic inefficiencies. Additionally, the role will contribute to youth justice projects which consider services available to at-risk young people.
Engagement will primarily be with Divisions within the Department and relevant agencies such as the Departments of Justice and Communities and WA Police.
A range of tasks may be involved including research, inter-jurisdictional scans, reviewing services, initiatives or proposals, analysing information and options and preparing policy advice or proposals for the Department.
The Department provides quality policy and administrative advice and support to enable the Premier, ministers and Government to serve the WA community.
