Role Title: IT Support Intern

The IT Support Intern is responsible for providing professional and responsive first-level Information Technology support services and contributing towards agreed departmental key performance indicators and service level agreements.
The position works under the guidance and direction of the Senior IT Support Officer and assists with the delivery of routine service desk, user access, equipment deployment, asset administration and documentation activities. The position is required to provide a high level of IT customer service and maintain positive and productive working relationships between IT and other departments.
The role is developmental in nature and will progressively build technical knowledge and capability through practical experience, coaching and relevant training. Work will be undertaken in accordance with established procedures, delegated system access and the officer’s demonstrated level of competence.
The City of Karratha is one of the four local government areas in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It covers an area of 15,882 square kilometres and had a population of about 21,500 as at the 2016 Census, most of which is located in its seat of government, the city of Karratha, and the major towns.
