Role Title: Cyber Security Intern

As a Cyber Security Intern, you will work closely with the Information Technology team to review the City's cyber security controls and practices against recognised industry standards and best-practice frameworks. You will assist in identifying opportunities to strengthen the organisation's security posture, develop practical recommendations, and support the implementation of agreed improvements.
During the placement, you will primarily interact with the IT Security and Infrastructure teams, as well as key business stakeholders involved in technology, risk management, and governance activities. You may also contribute to projects focused on cyber security maturity, compliance, risk reduction, and the enhancement of security controls across the organisation.
This role provides hands-on experience in assessing cyber security controls, analysing risks, researching industry best practices, report writing and helping deliver real-world security improvements that support the organisation's operational and regulatory requirements.
City of Bayswater is a leading local government located 8km from the Perth CBD. Known as the “Garden City”, the City of Bayswater covers a beautifully maintained area of 33km2 located just 8km north-east of Perth's CBD. It is home to a number of picturesque, exciting and educational attractions and 10km of Swan River foreshore.
