Role Description

The Accounting Intern will support the Racism Register team to strengthen our financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities as the organisation continues to grow. Working closely with the Co-Founders and external bookkeeping/accounting providers, the intern will assist with reviewing and organising financial records, improving financial administration processes, and helping establish efficient systems to support ongoing operations.
Key responsibilities may include: - Assisting with the review and organisation of financial records and documentation. - Supporting the development of financial management systems, procedures, and templates. - Assisting with budgeting, cash flow tracking, and financial reporting processes. - Reviewing expense categorisation and record-keeping practices to improve accuracy and compliance. - Supporting the implementation and optimisation of accounting software and digital record management systems. - Conducting research into best-practice financial management processes for not-for-profit and social impact organisations. - Assisting with the preparation of financial information required for grants, projects, and organisational reporting. - Assist with grant writing as required. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in accounting, financial systems development, and business operations.
