Role Title: Mother Baby Unit Database
Organisation: North Metropolitan Health Service
Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)
Location: Subiaco
This project will be based with the research team at the Statewide Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Program and the clinicians at the Mother Baby Unit at King Edward Memorial Hospital. The MBU data base commenced in 2007 but had a significant loss of data entry from 2019-2026. This position will involved opportunities to work with the MBU team and participate in research and educational activities across the mental health service.
The project will be to scope how to capture this lost data:
- work with the clinicians to identify the scope of data collection
- identify and quantify retrospective cases for entry
- determine the method for accessing these files
- determine what data are available in medical records and what data may be systematically missing (e.g., any scales administered in the new MBU that weren’t routinely administered previously, etc.)
- Establishing project tracking/management system to facilitate consecutive intern involvement until data entry is complete
