Project Title:
Ambulance Make Ready System – Business Case & Project Plan Development Project Purpose: To explore, design, and cost a Make Ready system for ambulance services that improves vehicle turnaround, cleanliness, equipment readiness, and operational efficiency. The student will lead the initial framing, research, and development of a business case and project plan to support decision-making and potential implementation. Student Role & Responsibilities: You will act as the Project Lead (with support) for the initial phase of the Ambulance Make Ready initiative. Your key responsibilities include: Framing the Problem: Define the current state of ambulance readiness and turnaround processes. Identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Literature Review & Benchmarking: Research existing Make Ready models (e.g., UK NHS Trusts, private providers). Review academic and industry literature on vehicle readiness, infection control, and logistics. Identify best practices and lessons learned. Stakeholder Engagement: Identify key stakeholders (e.g., paramedics, fleet managers, infection control leads). Conduct interviews or surveys to gather insights and validate assumptions. Costing & Financial Analysis: Estimate costs for staffing, equipment, facilities, and logistics. Compare current costs vs. projected costs under a Make Ready model.
