Perth-Peel Biodiversity Collections - Blattoidea

Role Title: Perth-Peel Biodiversity Collections - Blattoidea

Organisation: WA Museum

Internship Period: Summer (November - December)

Location: Welshpool

Role Description

The Western Australian Museum is looking for keen biologists to help us sort, identify and register thousands of zoological specimens collected from the Swan Coastal Plain over the last 100 years. New specimen records will be directly contributing to the WA Museum Legacy Project and the Perth-Peel Biodiversity Survey (for DBCA).
The project will involve sorting specimens into taxonomic groups, which then need to be pinned for the entomology collection. The intern will be expected to fill in a templated spreadsheet of specimens using Microsoft Excel. Training in entomological pinning techniques will be provided, specific to the taxonomic group of focus for the intern.
